Founded in 1998, Kingsize Studios celebrated its 15th anniversary by launching a formal education program in 2013. Now in its third year, we offer a selection of beginner through to expert level workshops, night classes and consultations.

Kingsize has always had a philosophy of teaching: offering workshops, intern programs, education and consulting. For many years, we have wanted to offer a formal teaching program.

When you attend a Kingsize workshop, you will be learning in a real-world, working rental studio. You will be taught by practicing professionals from the industry.

Kingsize partners with manufacturers, distributors, educators, and other community and industry leaders, all who wish to contribute to the education you receive at these workshops.

The focus for all the workshops is practicality: how we can teach you how to be more effective with your tools and skills, so as to make a better image, and potentially, better earn. We are teaching from over fifteen years of service to the film and photographic industry in New Zealand.

We welcome requests for new workshops.

KINGSIZE SCHOLARSHIP

The annual scholarship program began in 2013. Applications are taken from March 1st each year, and the Scholarship commences in the first weeks of April, running for 3 months. Details can be found here: Scholarship Application
