The whole team, at Kingsize Studios is committed to supporting the photographers, and film makers and the associated production community during the recovery from the 22nd of February earthquake in Christchurch.

We know that to date, many photographers have completely lost their CBD studios, while others have suffered irreparable damage. Many homes have been severely damaged, but thankfully we have not heard of any significant injury or loss of life from any of our colleagues.

The road to recovery will be long and difficult, and at this stage, we do not know how we can best help, but if you are an affected Cantabrian within the industry, please contact us at any time.

Both NZ professional photographic associations are committed to assisting their members, and companies such as Canon are working towards some support solutions. Please contact the AIPA or the NZIPP for further information.

Richard Linton’s studio on the city fringe is operable, and he is offering facilities, and a place to drop into for moral support.

Contact Richard at:

Linton Photography

Email: studio@lintonphoto.com

The NZIPP has set up a Facebook Page with status updates on members, and support offers.

Our own Kingsize Facebook Page has a thread with colleague updates.

Lastly, we have made the offer to all Christchurch photographers that if you need assistance with gear or studios, please contact us to discuss your needs. We can also help with job placement for anyone relocating to Auckland, and students and assistants looking for work / support from the affected region.
