If you’ve been directed here from the new issue of Remix Magazine to see the new fashion film by Garth Badger, you will have also see the full page ad, which used frame grabs from the Canon EOS C300 video camera. We did that to showcase just how good the files would print. What we found was astounding detail and an incredibly printable file. No, it’s not a RAW file, or even a large JPG, but it sure is a very usable option.
So presenting here, is the final short that Garth Badger shot as a real life test of the C300’s capabilities. The footage has been quite heavily graded, and the results speak for themselves. It has held up incredibly well; there is astonishing detail, and no noise to speak of.
Garth shot the entire piece with our new set of Zeiss CP.2 lenses, an Oconnor CFF-1 follow focus, all on a Vocas baseplate and rig. He used a Kessler Cineslider, and Kobold HMI lighting.

A huge thanks to Red 11 Models & Talent for providing the amazing talent: Widika and Ariel; Barry Betham for styling; and Verity Griffiths for makeup.
Music is by Boycrush. The piece was shot entirely in Studio 4, at Kingsize Studios. Lastly, a big thanks to Garth Badger for pulling this project together, all within a couple of days.
