Today we shot some tests with the new Westcott Halo Umbrella we received last week. We shot in our big studio. The mannequin head was in the middle of the 7x14m area, so there was only average bounce from walls 3.5m on either side. We were trying to simulate a one light set up in a decent sized studio. Background fading to grey, 7m behind. Black floor, so no upward bounce.

All sources were approximately 1.5-2m from the subject, roughly 45degree angle.

We compared the Westcott halo with most of our other common accessories of a similar size. In order, left to right: Halo, bounce white umbrella, shoot through umbrella, medium softbox, mola demi dish with sock, mola demi w/out sock.
