Carving a wooden shoulder mount for the new 5d Mk2 Rig

We have a new rig coming made up of Vocas / Arri / Birns & Sawyer / Viewfactor components, but we need to make a temporary shoulder pad because we have a job next week, and the Vocas part might not get here in time.

It became clear that making one was the only option, so today Dan Max and Garth Badger and I discussed design ideas. By the end of the day, I had glued some pieces of off cut cherry ply into a solid block that is being fashioned into a shoulder fitting profile.

The main problem is how to fasten a pair of perfectly aligned 15mm rods into the wooden block.

Friday, we will work on that further. Suggestions welcome !
