Happy New Year Everyone !

As we return from holiday, there are a couple of news items which broke while we were away:

First was the announcement that a hacker had managed to record 4k for six seconds with a Canon T2i HD-DSLR. This turned out to be a comedy of epic proportions, while the HD-DSLR community held it’s breath for what was either going to be a too good to be true solution, vs an all time hoax

The second news story which lit up forums around the world was the news that the first ever Red Epic, serial # 00006 had been stolen from it’s owner, who wile on holiday in the French Alps with his family had thieves break in at night while everyone was sleeping, and steal the entire Epic kit. While this story could have had a tragic ending, with injury or loss of life, thankfully no one was harmed. However, due to the camera’s uniqueness, Jim Jannard the owner of Red has offered a USD$100,000 reward for information which leads to both an arrest, and return of the gear.
