> INSURANCE

Kingsize operates within a professional production environment.

This means equipment, studios, and personnel carry real responsibility during use.

Most shoots run without issue.
This is here so expectations are clear if something does happen.

What is covered

Kingsize may insure its equipment against standard insurable risks.

Where Kingsize insurance applies, liability may be limited to an excess.

Insurance excess

In the event of loss or damage, the following excess may apply:

• standard claims: $1,500 + GST
• higher-risk claims: $5,000 + GST

Higher-risk includes (but is not limited to):

• theft or negligence
• water exposure (fresh or salt)
• sand or environmental damage
• overseas use
• drone or aerial use

The applicable excess must be paid by the Customer.

Examples of negligence

Negligence generally involves avoidable situations where equipment is not properly secured or managed.

Common examples include:

• leaving equipment unattended during pack-in or pack-out
• leaving a vehicle unlocked or open with equipment inside
• leaving equipment visible in a vehicle overnight
• failing to secure equipment in public or shared spaces
• exposing equipment to rain, water, or harsh conditions without protection

If you’re unsure, a simple rule applies:

Equipment should never be left unattended or unsecured.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for all equipment during the hire period.

This includes:

• safe handling and operation
• secure storage
• protection from environmental damage
• ensuring equipment is used by competent operators

Responsibility begins at collection and ends once equipment is returned and accepted by Kingsize.

What insurance does not cover

Insurance does not remove your responsibility.

Depending on the situation, you may still be liable for:

• the full cost of repair or replacement
• ongoing hire charges during repair or replacement
• associated costs such as freight, assessment, or recovery

Using your own insurance

In some cases, you may use your own insurance.

This must be agreed in advance.

Requirements include:

• comprehensive cover for the full hire period
• cover for loss, damage, and extended hire
• a Certificate of Insurance
• Kingsize listed as an interested or co-insured party

Approval of your insurance does not remove your responsibility under our Terms and Conditions.

Loss or damage

If equipment is lost or damaged:

• notify Kingsize immediately
• return damaged equipment as soon as possible
• provide a written report if required

We will assess the situation and confirm next steps.

Studios and personal property

Kingsize is not responsible for:

• personal items
• props
• client equipment
• data or recorded material

You are responsible for insuring your own property and production.
