KINGSIZE “HOUSE INSURANCE”
House Insurance is included in our equipment day rate, and this is how it works.
1 USING OUR POLICY
Renting from Kingsize, is the same as renting a car, or power tool from a hire company.
Many of these hire companies offer insurance as an extra fee or they build it into their day rate.
Kingsize builds the cost of insurance cover into the day rate of each item.
However there is still an excess to pay if the damage, or loss is more than $1500+gst.
NZD$1,500 each and every loss increasing to $5,000 each and every loss whilst equipment is worldwide and/or for any sand/water related damaged claims and/or theft by hirer related claims.
Next step is to fill out a Claim Form, and supply any accompanying facts. This must be done within 24hrs of the incident, or upon return of equipment. You may need to supply a Police Report for theft, damage or injury.
The person who booked the hire is responsible for any insurance process and financial liability. We do not accept 3rd party management of this process.
Eg: you are a freelance photographer, hired by “Fashion Monthly” magazine, and they have approved you to rent some gear and put it on their account. When you arrive to collect the gear, you can only charge the invoice to the magazine if they have provided a formal Purchase Order before you take the gear away.
2 USING YOUR POLICY
If you have an Hired Goods Policy, please email us a Certificate of Indemnity with Kingsize Studios Ltd listed on it. It should be noted that the excess is paid by you and not Kingsize. Your broker, or insurance company can supply this on demand. Please send this to
shoot@kingsize.co.nz
In this case, any claim must be settled within 7 days of the incident.
3 FRESH WATER, SALT WATER, UNDERWATER
A condition of the policy is that any underwater housing must be successfully tested in the proposed or similar filming environment within 24 hours prior to actual shoot. Failure to do so will jeopardise the response of the policy to any potential claims.
Excess is $5000+gst for water related damages
4 DRONE, AERIAL
Operating instructions and procedures must be supplied to Insurers prior to confirmation. Excess minimum $5,000 each and every loss in respect of the Drone, any Aerial Device and any equipment attached or being used with the drone.
You must take all reasonable precautions to prevent destruction, loss or damage to property or bodily injury and comply and ensure that your employees, servants and agents comply with all statutory obligations and by-laws or regulations imposed by any public authority for the safety of property or person.
5 HAZARDOUS USE
Hazardous Activities means any activities, conditions, special effects, hazards or stunts which may materially increase your exposure to risks. You must advise any activity that may be considered Hazardous prior to uplifting goods.
6 OVERSEAS INSURANCE
Kingsize House Insurance offers photographers the ability to take equipment overseas without arranging their own specific extension. This must be arranged prior to uplifting goods. In this case the excess is $5000+gst.
7 ARRANGING YOUR OWN INSURANCE
Kingsize can refer you to a broker to arrange your own Public Liability or Hired Goods insurance policy: this can be arranged very quickly and they can also organise general insurance for your own equipment, travel, or specialist commercial cover.*
